Spin Training

The spin is a classic maneuver, or flight condition, that has been with us since as far back as the Wright Brothers' early experiments with gliders.  Nonetheless, the majority of today's pilots were never exposed to the spin at any point in their training!  If this is the case for you, consider letting us allow you to experience spinning in a safe, enjoyable, controlled and educational manner.

The ASK 21 closely replicates the spin behavior of the bulk of today's single-seat sailplane fleet--the composite-structured, T-tailed shoulder-winged glider--because it has a very similar aerodynamic design and distribution of mass.  The most important difference is that it carries two pilots, allowing you to learn more about spinning without having to teach yourself!

We can acquaint you with the spinning behavior of a modern sailplane either by building a short, targeted ground and flight lesson or by incorporation into a more comprehensive training syllabus--such as your next Flight Review.  Either way, it is certain to increase your understanding of spinning, spin recovery and spin avoidance, as well as to dramatically increase your comfort level at all times while in flight.
